You Made A Difference

Dear Women in Project Management members,

October signals the finish of our second year of non-profit work in the project management industry. We have many things to be grateful for; our health, modern technology, and the world’s recalibration of priorities in the face of a frighteningly persistent virus.

Unfortunately, the lifecycle of our non-profit has been influenced by the pandemic. We are writing to remind you of the positive influence your membership has had on the project management industry. With your fees and the bootstrapping of our founders,

  • WiPM had a presence at the 2019 Project Management International Conference to engage project managers worldwide to increase the awareness of available formal training and education 
  • WiPM supported members nationwide in providing resources and information about joining the ranks of project managers
  • Multiple scholarships were given to recipients to support and fund PMP/Scrum training 

The first four months of closed doors and face masks took a toll on WiPM’s daily functions, but with a little leaning in, we made it through 2020. More than ⅓ of the US non-profits nationwide are in jeopardy of closing within the next two years because of the financial harm inflicted by the viral pandemic. Truly, we thought 2021 would bring us back to our normal non-profit fitness, but unfortunately, we must shutter our non-profit organization, Women in Project Management (WiPM). 

To this end, we will not be renewing any more memberships this year and our website will not be operational past September 10. We are immensely proud of the resilience and flexibility of all our WiPM members.
